Who is driving the car in the Toyota Super Bowl ad?

If one of your teams wasn't playing in this year's Super Bowl, you likely at least had some fun watching millions, if not billions of dollars being spent on advertising. Of course, everyone working at Toyota of Decatur show was really excited  to see if our manufacturing partner was going to join the fray. We were surprised by the number of people who asked us, 'Who is driving the car in  the Toyota Super Bowl ad?' Actress Cobie Smulders is behind the wheel. You might have previously seen her as Aunt Robin on 'How I Me t Your Mother,' Agent Maria Hill in several Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies or in a relatively new show called  'Stumptown.' As fun as this commercial is, our team is more excited to talk about what the 2020 Toyota Highlander will have to offer potential buyers when its delivered.

"This commercial truly highlights the all-new Highlander's incredible array of features, even greater capabilities and spacious interior," Ed Laukes, group vice president, Toyota Marketing, Toyota Motor North America, said in a press release. "The spot's message of 'go wherever they need you' speaks to the adventurous spirit of Highlander and its ability to help drivers tap into their inner hero."

2020 Highlander Specs and Dimensions

All gasoline-powered versions of the 2020 Toyota Highlander will have a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine under the hood. The power plant will be attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and will be available with both front- and all-wheel-drive. Customers can expect to be able to use 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Every 2020 Highlander will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.

One of the reasons Smulders likely chose the 2020 Highlander to pick up all of those people is the vehicle's massive interior volume. All of its available trim grades will come with three rows of seats that can hold seven or eight passengers, depending on which version they choose to take home.

The driver and front passenger will have up to 40.4 inches of legroom to use. Passengers in the second and third rows will offer 41 and 27.7 inches of legroom, respectively.

Owners (and Ms. Smulders) will be able to carry 16 cubic-feet of cargo volume when all seats are being used by passengers. Folding the third row away will make 48.4 cubic-feet available and configuring the vehicle for maximum cargo volume will open up 84.3 cubic-feet.
